mid-week warmth

It’s starting to feel a lot like summer outside.

Overall the first week fo way will be warm. However the euro weeklies show cooler conditions for weeks two and three with a trough over the eastern US. Another surge of heat then leads to a warm last week of May compared to average. Overall should not be to far from normal on temperatures overall and the region should have MCS activity from time to time as well.

1. For the rest of this week expect mostly sunny skies with some afternoon haze and a few scattered cumulus clouds. I’m not really optimistic about any storm chances through Derby day say 20%. There is really no trigger in place for thunderstorms. Highs should be in the mid to upper 80’s today and the low to mid 80’s for Thursday and Friday. Derby day will be hot with highs approaching 90 with high humidity. Don’t expect much relief from the wind as well. Take pre-cautions from the heat if you plan on going to Derby or will be outside Saturday.
