frost likely this week

1. Tuesday will feature mostly sunny skies with highs near 60 give or take a few degrees, cooler north and warmer south. Lows Tuesday night should fall into the mid 30’s to low 40’s. A few valley locations could have frost Wednesday morning as well.

2. Wednesday may see some patchy clouds form during the day with the trough moving through and possible weak disturbances though those should stay primarily to our north thus still dry. Highs will only be in the 50’s with some northerly winds during the day as well. Wednesday night skies clear and winds become light this is when I think we have a good chance at a widespread frost and freezing conditions with lows from 30-35, some valley locations may fall into the upper 20’s for a hard freeze.

3. The ridge axis shifts east into our region for late week which means a decent warm-up is in store. Also this means a very active severe weather week in the plains. Texas on April 3rd surpassed KY for most tornado reports by state this year. KY had led everyday this year up till Apr 3rd in a weather stat where you’d prefer to be last.
