Will wait till 18z to see if 1931-32 snowless record for Jun-Jul winter is broken @ LEX

Looks like a burst of 1/2 to 1 inch of snow made it across the I-64 regions this morning. My B zone should have been expanded further southwest. Caught a little bit due to higher ratios than I had expected.

Lexington has had .7 inches of snow to bring the season total to 1.8 .3 off of the least snowiest winter 1931-32. Slick spots are likely across the bluegrass into northeast KY this morning.

Interesting system developing for Fri-Sat. Looks like gfs is coming around to nam. Right now, I’m thinking dynamical cooling leads to snow at the onset with this system. Could be a healthy 1-3″ band along I-64. Wish the heavier precip would trend a bit further north so Covington could get in on the action, even though a NAO+ probably won’t allow for much of a northwestward shift.

While it should snow this weekend Friday night into Saturday it looks like another dusting event with rain changing to snow. Don’t see the qpf for 1-3 inches at this time.
