Southern KY to get the clipper

Looking at the new 00z model data coming in it appears the clipper may go a little further south than previously thought. Temperatures should be in the mid 30’s south in the afternoon before falling below freezing again, forecasted temps for the remainder of the region stay the same. This will likely lead to slick spots where snow does fall.

– main question is when the clipper enoucnter the better lift, further west as the case with the NAM or further east in line with the GFS. Either way I think southeast KY sees a little snow with snow perhaps back to the northeast for Somerset and Bowling Green.

updated map

the chance region is a for a 50% chance of a period of light snow Saturday afternoon and evening, coatings to an inch. the likely region is a 60% chance. Model data still ranges from the SPC WRF which has a decent period of snow track across southern KY to the RUC which has nothing.

Another update Saturday morning!
