chance of mixed precip north of I-64 Monday morning

by

I’m thinking the 32 line is just north of I-64 for a few hours around rush hour Monday, 850 mb temp line and 540 thickness is a similar spot. A week disturbance should bring light qpf into the regions at the same time. The end result is a chance for a light wintry mix around the rush hour Monday for Covington, Maysville and perhaps as far south as Lexington. Valleys in eastern KY may see a touch of freezing rain. No accumulations are expected from this at this time though it wouldn’t take much to create some public impact. I’ll have the regular forecast Sunday.

Here is some model eye candy for next weekend. A strong warning this DGEX model is not very good. But it’s something. This DGEX/GFS solution has the front and closed low move through early week then another low track across the south after colder air has moved in.
