another severe event coming up

– Thursday should be fair and cooler again in the 60’s for highs. we will be south of the boundary that brought severe weather earlier in the week. This boundary lifts north Thursday night.

– Once again instability, moisture and shear will increase as the boundary moves north through the region from late Thursday into Friday.  This will result in the development of showers and storms along it. Most of these will be elevated in nature. However friday afternoon after parameters have become favorable some of the storms south of the boundary could become severe during the afternoon and early evening.  Highs will be warmer around 80 with a warm start top the day after lows in the 50’s.

– freezing levels and lapse rates suggest a hail threat, also the amount of shear present may yet again result in isolated tornadoes and damaging winds will also be a threat for friday afternoon into Saturday. Warmer temps prevail through the weekend. The next front which is responsible the old boundary stalls just to the northwest of our region. As a result enough lift will be present with parameters favorable for some severe weather to continue thunderstorm chances from Lexington north and west through easter. Not confident enough on the exact position of this front to go more into detail.
