temperatures an issue once again

Our warm front has been slow to move north of the region and as a result low level cold air hung around through most of the day across the region with the north only seeing highs near 40 with 70’s south of the boundary.

on monday showers are likely later in the day with highs in the 60’s and overnight lows this may allow for flurries at the end. Tuesday I have no changes going with many of us not hitting 40 with cloudy skies.

This leads into the main weather maker for Thursday and Friday

– Another system kicks out into the plains with a new warm front forming over our region

– a period of rain and thunder develops over the region on thursday which lifts north throughout the day

– enough shear should be present for severe storms but the question is instability which now appears to be lacking in my view, most of the indices indicate the likelihood for thunderstorms that aren’t severe. The best combination appears to be over OK/AR.

– the cold front moves through thursday night and friday with total rainfall from 2-4 inches.

it should be noted the SPC was aggressive with the extended forecast sunday going with a decent severe threat for western regions. It may change by the time many of you see it.
