Ahhh, nice taste of warmth!!!

by

Good afternoon everyone!! Thanks for checking in. This is my first post on this blog, and I am excited!! Today is the first day in, hopefully, a week of warm days. I am super excited about this, but if you look down the road, it is not looking very nice. I’ll get into that later. First, today will be nice and sunny with temps in the mid to upper 50’s.

As we move int the week, the only day that should be relatively cool will likely be tomorrow. The 12z run of the GFS has a “cold front” moving through the area tomorrow, and temps will likely only make the mid to upper 40s, with higher temps in the south.

Now, what happens for the rest of the week? Well, temps will likely continue to warm up. By Wednesday, winds should begin coming from the south. Those winds will be nice and warm too, as they will likely be coupled with temps in the mid to upper 50s, and in some areas lower 60s. As we continue to move on in the week, temps will continue to climb. Thursday, 60’s look likely for most areas, with isolated 70’s, as seen by the GGEM.

Will this ever end?? Well, a strong low pressure system will begin dominating our winds and temperature patterns as it traverses across the northern plains. Many area’s this day will see strong southerly winds, with 70’s. This low will likely not produce much precip here, but it will usher in cooler weather. Look at the 12z EURO. I takes temps from 50*F the day before, to near freezing the same time the next day.

That is a pretty crazy temp drop, and many will notice this. That will likely be the “end” of that warm spell. Will it warm again though? More than likely, yes. The 12z GFS has it getting warmer as early as next Sunday. As that week moves on, temps will likely continue warming up out ahead of two low pressure systems. The GFS has this occurring.

After that, the GFS has a front coming through, and cooling things down a bit.

Now, a little bit for those of you who think winter is over. Winter is far from over my friends. There is a lot of cold air up in the country of Canada, just waiting to come to us. Temps up in the northern parts of Canada right now are below -20*F right now!!!

That all has to go somewhere, and I completely exact that to come here. Some time in late February or early March, there will likely be a monster of a storm crank up, and catch that cold air, and send it south. The GFS is already picking up on this.

Honestly, I could see something that big occurring late in the month just because of patterns associated with La Nina.

Whew, that was a lot!!! Thanks for reading and God bless!!!
