first thoughts on next storm

– 14 day updated as well with day to day details

– I actually like the gfs solution from 00z on this next storm

– high pressure should keep it from cutting into the lakes however the low may be strong enough to track further north and pull north warm air, this deviation of the low track takes into the TN/OH valleys before transferring energy to the east coast. This is a classic cold rain track.

getting a nogaps, cmc, jma, gfs blend going with the ky cutter this track sucks for any severe weather or snow. clipper snows should be an inch or less.

clipper forecast was good with 1-2 from cincy to ashland and trace amounts back to lex.

I have a suspicion that the gfs will trend warmer still. Maybe a chance of thunderstorms will develop with a more northern track?

To think less than 24 hours I was worried that this storm would go south of us and give tennessee a blizzard!

Mitch, is there any hope at all that SE KY would get snow out of the early week system? Trying to find a way to stay optimistic lol
