major winter storm next week???

by

very interesting model trends overnight with the 00z runs. the CMC and ECMWF blast eastern Kentucky with over a foot of snow Tuesday into Wednesday. stay tuned already tired from this last system. light snow may start Sunday night and continue through Monday with the threat for heavier snows in the Tuesday into Wednesday timeframe. I’ll go more into detail after the 12z runs. this is one to watch folks as it could be our best shot of a 6+ snowfall so far this winter.  An analog for what I’m seeing in terms of storm track and formation  is March 11-13 1993 for those who might have been wondering about my previous comment earlier this evening. This is still in the early stages and only set of model runs has trended in this direction BUT I’m seeing a lot of potential for big time snow in Kentucky early next week.

The GFS is trying to trend toward major storm for us, trying though.

it should. half of the gfs ensembles show it.

major storm tue-wed with a band of 6-16 snows, where is the question. full discussion up later today currently favoring south and east or a miss to the region. this storm could be the baby brother to march 11-13 1993.
