8:30 am update: very impressed with WRF NMM

by

My forecast was largely based on these WRF models for today and folks the model really did well with some of heavier bursts of this morning including for the Lexington metro with moderate snow north of the western Kentucky and bluegrass parkways with little south of those highways. Overall the dry slot is present and the radar looks bleak for the southeast but have no fear I still think a period of snow moves from bowling green along the southern Kentucky parkway today bringing up to an inch. Lexington-Louisville are in the steady light to moderate snow with temperatures in the mid 20’s, this has likely made roads very slick and allow caution as a winter weather advisory is in effect.
