short term forecast: Moderate snow showers moving east

by

My main concern now that the sun has set is that snow will be able to accumulate more quickly on surfaces. southern Kentucky has done about what was expected with 1-3 inches of snow. however the bluegrass and northern Kentucky were in a donut hole between two areas of snow the accumulating snow will have to come from snow showers. Tonight we have moderate snow showers moving west to east across the southern half of the  state these lay down quick coatings on all surfaces including roadways creating a new batch of slick spots. The best chance for slick spots is from 7 to midnight et tonight starting in the bowling green region and moving east where many spots could pick up another 1/2 inch of snow. I’m going to raise the 1-3 zones to 1-4 now for southern and southeastern Kentucky.
