chance of light snow tonight and saturday

by

here is a quick evening update on the chance for light snow across southern Kentucky. I noticed both Louisville and Jackson NWS’s did not have the chance in their forecasts. I have to disagree looking at radar trends and the new 18z runs. I’m not worried about saturation as some places have had fog today. Here is the radar to track the band of snow out of eastern Oak. If this holds form as it moves northeast we get surprise. As it stands now expectations are for this band to weaken out somewhat as it moves across the southern portion of the state overnight and saturday morning. Temperatures will be in the 20’s so expect slick spots and minor accumulations if snow does occur.

Central Great Lakes sector loop

We’ll see if it maintains it’s self overnight, if so an accumulating snowfall could occur across the south in the next 24 hours.. As of now the most likely outcome is for the band to decrease in coverage and intensity as it moves across southern ky with only ver light snow in spots.

the 18z nam radar tracks this band over the next 24 hours< I’ll also be looking at the RUC this evenng to nowcast this snow band.
