8:30 pm update

the radar is filling is nicely already. with isentropic lift and a jet streak creating the agent needed for lift and thus precipitation. It looks like areas near Bowling Green will wet-bulb from 32 to around 30. Portions of western Kentucky are 33 but have already wet-bulbed and will not have anymore evaporational cooling.

Central Great Lakes sector loop

Here is a look at the RUC 850 mb temp map, areas northeast of the 850 line will be snow, near 850 line sleet and south of it ICE.

This is a bit further south than I expected.

here is a look at the 32 line taking into account potential evaporational cooling so if I’m expecting you to cool back below 32 you are below 32 on this map. Just as I wrote this BWG wet bulbed to 30 quick.

thanks mesonet, it’s still in SW KY now. Freezing rain should be likely over the next several hours for BWG with some sleet in the e-town region with light snow in the bluegrass.

looking at 00z nam and ruc forecast on track. NWs may finally drop the WSW for an advisory for BWG like I’ve been hinting at today.
