Staying the course with the clipper forecast from this afternoon. Overall this clipper type system looks healthy to our northwest and snow is starting to fall in the Louisville area. Bowling Green should stay all rain till the wrap-around. Some isolated 4’s are possible near 1-64 if the precipitation stays all snow, this includes yours truly who decided to get out of BWG and head up to the bluegrass for the day.
City updates
Bowling Green- rain showers, wrap-around snow showers
Louisville 1-4 snow
Lexington 1-4 snow
Jackson 1-4 snow
London 0-2 snow, mixture at times
ashland, covington 1-3 snow
the rain/snow line should be from e-town to east of bwg in the morning then edge from ft.knox to nicholasville to berea to prestonburg in the afternoon before retreating later in the day.
the steadiest snow should be in the morning and early afternoon with snow showers in the evening.
very cold most of next week, temperatures will be subfreezing from Sunday through Wednesday, BWG may get there however. don’t forget the snow showers early next week as well with upslope accums out east.
by the way a look at the ECMWF weeklies shows this cold pattern lasting into 2011. The overall pattern should be for a trough in the east and storms reaching the pac nw to round this trough over the next 2 weeks. This means plenty of cold and several snow chances.
