Updated forecast on clipper

some brief insights into the longer range below in the last post notice the NAO strongly negative, this means cold cold and cold for Dec.

updated forecast

– models trending slightly colder if anything but much drier on QPF.

– more worried about accumulations Saturday in the day.

this is through Saturday early evening NO UPSLOPE INCLUDED IN PART 1, just Saturday daytime and early evening.

those on the western and southern edges of the 0-1 are more likely to see 0 of course those in the 1-2 on the southern edge more likely 1. the 2 totals should be isolated.

snow or mixed precipitation which could even be ice for southern ky will develop Saturday morning and spread east. The south gets dry/warm slotted saturday pm while I-64 and northeast ky see steady light snow. by saturday night numerous snow showers should be progress.

Overall Saturday night through Sunday night with more snow showers I expect local accums of around 1/2 inch with 1 inch or slightly higher amounts for the SE mountains.

additional snow showers are likely Mon-Wed and each day should be similar to Thu across the region but colder. more upslope accums and localized accums  elsewhere are also likely.

city forecasts

– mix of precipitation saturday morning very light if any accums

– dry, 40 in the afternoon

– wrap-around snow showers up to 1/2 inch of snow

– periods of light snow Saturday 1-2 inches of accumulation, rain may mix in briefly limiting accums in the afternoon. most folks around 1.

– mix of precipitation saturday am under 1/2 inch accums

– dry slot saturday pm

– wrap-around snows sat night
