strong storm threat south central ky

by

A broken line of storms has formed this afternoon along 1-65 as expected. The amount of instability ahead of line has increased along with steeping lapse rates. This promotes an enviroment favorable for the strengthening of these storms for areas of southern Kentucky in a triangle zone from Somerset to Harrodsburg to bowling green. Outside the region very little in the way of instability is present with a very sharp cutoff just to the southwest of the Lexington metro.
