Severe thunderstorm watch south central ky untill 9 pm et

by

This is not a repeat headline. Once again with an extremely unstable ahead of the same front scattered storms have been able to develop. These storms will be most likely be focused south and west of Lexington where the airmass is most unstable with LI values near -10 and a cape over 3000. Some of these storms may become severe with hail and gusty winds due to the unstable nature of the atmosphere.

spc discussion:

DISCUSSION…THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED ALONG A ZONE OF WEAK
CONVERGENCE IN NERN AR/WRN TN AND ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP NEWD INTO
SRN KY. STRONG INSTABILITY COMBINED WITH STRONGER WINDS ALOFT WILL
LIKELY RESULT IN STORMS WITH SEVERE HAIL…LOCALIZED DOWNBURSTS AND
   HEAVY RAINFALL.

I’ll comment with any warnings or thoughts.
