summer like warmth continues

by

1. We have one more day for the summer preview tomorrow across the region with warm southerly winds. However any moisture return from the gulf is limited which means once again relative humidities will be low and the region will flurt with meeting red flag warning criteria. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s across the region which is just shy of record values.

2. a cold front approaches Saturday but it will encounter a dry airmass as it moves east. This will lead to a  weaking period of showers and thunder as it moves across the state, in fact I could see areas east of Lex staying dry. Skies will be mostly cloudy with highs in the low 70’s.

3. I’m still sniffing out the first severe event of the season mon and wed with a very warm and windy Tuesday, this goes in line with the GFS and JMA models the ECMWF is a day slower.
