…LIGHT SNOW EXPECTED LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY NEAR THE
VIRGINIA BORDER…

.AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVING THROUGH THE SOUTHEASTERN STATES AND
OFF THE EASTERN SEABOARD WILL COMBINE WITH AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE
TO SPREAD WINTRY PRECIPITATION NORTH INTO THE APPALACHIANS TONIGHT.
THE PRECIPITATION SHOULD FALL AS PRIMARILY SNOW NEAR THE VIRGINIA
BORDER LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY ON TUESDAY BEFORE CHANGING TO RAIN
BEFORE ENDING. ELEVATIONS ABOVE 2000 FEET WILL HAVE THE BEST CHANCE
FOR EXPERIENCING MEASURABLE SNOWFALL.

ADVISORY FOR LIGHT SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 10 AM EST
TUESDAY.

* SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVERNIGHT AND TRANSITION TO RAIN AROUND
  MID MORNING ON TUESDAY. THE PRECIPITATION COULD BRIEFLY MIX WITH RAIN…
  SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN…BUT MOSTLY SNOW IS EXPECTED.

* 1 TO 2 INCHES IS EXPECTED…MAINLY AT ELEVATIONS ABOVE 2000
  FEET…WHILE LOWER ELEVATION AREAS SHOULD EXPERIENCE AN INCH OR
  LESS. LITTLE OR NO ICE ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED.

* SLICK AND OR SNOW COVERED ROADS COULD DEVELOP LATE TONIGHT AND
  EARLY TUESDAY MORNING WITH THE MORNING COMMUTE POSSIBLY BEING AFFECTED.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL
CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED
ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

one thing i’m seeing with this as of 7 pm is the precip appears to be going further west than expected.
