snow still on the way

by

current radar

Central Great Lakes sector loop

right now it looks like snow is spreading in 2 hours faster than predicted which means snow has already begun for areas along and west of 1-75 by the morning commute and starting by late morning further east.

widespread light snow should overspread the region for most of the day with a dry slot coming in through the afternoon. overall the 00z models have decreased qpf with a northerly trend in the low track along the arctic front which in turn causes for a larger dry slot. now the qpf output is .1-.2 for Lexington north and less than .1 for the south by friday morning. still we have 20:1 snow ratios.

additional snow showers are likely into saturday with the upslope regions in the se picking up the most. winds will pick up thursday into friday leading to blowing snow. we also have wind chills near or below 0 fri and sat nights.

additional snow shower totals fri-sat

 frequent updates tommorow.
