mild start to week

1. Southerly flow and abundant sunshine should in place for Monday with highs likely getting close to 60 in spots. This will be followed by a frontal passage monday night with scattered rain showers.

2. nw flow sets up by Tuesday meaning much cooler temps for the rest of the week and some chances for snow by the end of the week with model solutions all over the place now.  Highs will be in the 30’s and 40’s, with lows in the 20’s and 30’s.

3. Chances for a white christmas are looking fairly good this far out, take a look at the new gfs for christmas eve.

pattern overview as i see it now, full post will be up wednesday due to finals week.

    1. nw flow becomes established by mid to late week
    2. disturbance moves from the rockies east while low pressure moves across the gulf, the big question is do they phase if so there’s a chance for a decent snowfall if not it’s light snow showers for much of the weekend.
    3. arctic air becomes established early next week leading to a pre christmas storm around our area
    4. a cold pattern ends 2009 with perhaps another storm
