rest of this week ( next post TBD)

by

i will be recovering from my wisdom teeth extraction for the rest of the week after getting them out tomorrow morning.

wednesday will see the potential for the same frontal zones to produce another complex of storms. I’m going think positively here along with the 00z nam that storms to our south and a more stable airmass keep things from going out of control with another complex of hvy rains and storms like the gfs 18z has. there is still the potential for scattered storms in the morning with hvy rains and gusty winds either way. by the afternoon the frontal clash and ring of fire should move further west away from us allowing for some sun and highs in the 80’s outside of storms.

we do have flood watches in effect for wednesday

RAINFALL TO THE REGION. RAINFALL RATES IN EXCESS OF TWO INCHES
PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE ENTIRE WATCH AREA. WITH THE
GROUNDS ALREADY SATURATED BY RECENT RAINS…ANY HEAVY RAINFALL
THAT OCCURS WILL LIKELY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED

this is same for wilmington and jackson counties as well. the main concern for widespread flooding is from a complex otherwise flood threat will be more isolated.

2. high pressure pushes the frontal boundaries away from us in all directions leading to a sunny summer day with highs in the low to mid 80’s.

3. with return sw flow around the high for friday the ring of fire ahead of the heat ridge pushes east, this makes us fair game for another thunderstorm complex around the ring of fire due to disturbances and week fronts traveling the ring. outside of thunderstorm complexs highs will be in the mid to upper 80’s with more humidity. at this time the chances for a storm complex are around 40%.

4. a heat wave this weekend, the 18z gfs and 12z euro show a big chunk of the heat ridge setting shop over the ohio valley. this would mean rising air & a cap preventing  thunderstorms even with more humidity, sunny skies and highs in the low 90’s. but again this is the summer of 09 and cool and stormy has always won so far.

12z euro

hopefully i will back with you all soon  and this procedure is not a big setback, 40 updates in the comments section from tuesday’s storms and flooding is the most out of any event so far for this blog, what a day!
