    THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON KY HAS ISSUED A

    * FLOOD ADVISORY FOR…
    SOUTHERN PERRY COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY
    CLAY COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY
    SOUTHEAST LAUREL COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY
    LESLIE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY
    SOUTHWESTERN LETCHER COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY

    * UNTIL 515 AM EDT MONDAY

    * AT 1112 PM EDT WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN AREA OF
    VERY HEAVY RAIN MOVING INTO THE AREA.

    RECENT RAINS HAVE SATURATED THE GROUNDS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF
    AROUND AN INCH IS EXPECTED TO FALL ACROSS SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY BETWEEN
    11:15 PM AND 3 AM. THIS AMOUNT OF RAINFALL WILL LIKELY LEAD TO
    MINOR FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS…ROADS…AND ROADSIDE
    CULVERTS.

    MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
    AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
    DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
    ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
    ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE…TURN AROUND…DONT DROWN.
