the rest of the week

1.  showers will hang with us unitll early wednesday and highs both days will not reach 60 i expect most of this to be scattered, another dreary day in ky. by late wednesday the sun will show it’s self.

2. thursday through saturday now look dry as the next system slows up high pressure will dominate and the flow will become southerly which will mean warmer temps, lows in the 40’s and 50’s with highs in the 60’s and 70’s by saturday.

3. the end of the this split flow pattern appears to be at hand as the next low should really deepen the east coast trough and pump up a western ridge, this will mean another cutoff low with a chilly and damp week next week.

split flow pattern we’ve been for a while, the flow comes on the west coast with a blocking ridge in canada the result is two horseshoes one in canada open to the atlantic a ridge the other open to nw canada and the arctic regions the trough of the block covering much of the eastern U.S.

the transition next week

preview of my thinking going into may

i think next week will be the end to the split flow pattern the ridge will strenghten in the west and pull into the plains likely warming us up into the 70’s and 80’s to start may for highs.
