latest severe outlook the sun is out today which means there will be some instabilty in place to produce some strong storms ahead of the low later today. gusty winds and small hail would be the main threats.  in the deep south such elements as favorable rotational fields and more mositure to work with will come into play leading to the moderate risk there.

again the time for any storms is late this afternoon or later.

there is also a WIND ADVISORY in effect today east. as usual with the past several storms gusty winds and even  red flag condtions are possible ahead of the system.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A LAKE WIND
ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 5 PM
EDT FRIDAY.

WINDS ARE EXPECTED INCREASE TO BETWEEN 15 AND 25 MPH LATE THIS
AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON AS A POTENT WEATHER SYSTEM MOVES
THROUGH THE TENNESSEE AND OHIO VALLEYS. DURING THIS TIME WINDS WILL
GUST TO 35 MPH
