MILESTONE DAY

by

the weather will be the second part of this post

1. MILESTONES MET

 – we have 2 outstanding milestones achevied on the blog this week

1. I YEAR ANNI THIS WEEK, THE BLOG DEBUTED 1 YEAR AGO THIS WEEK.

2. 25,000 OF YOU HAVE NOW VISTED THE SITE!

thank you for all you have done to make this a successful weather site over the past week. we’ve had our issues, challanges, and busy times here on this blog. and have gotten through them.

my views on what the blog has done well and can improve on

the blog has been able to provide daily weather updates for a large area of central and eastern kentucky with special updates for severe weather situations.  montly climate outlooks also have been successful along the 14 day forecast. the 14 day forecast can be updated more often. we have had a few special features such as ky historical weather and the historical meteos but i could do these more frquently. the global climate change/warming page hasn’t changed much in a while, i hope to expand on this page by showing new reports and reserach over the next year and yes you will be able to comment politely on the issue.  speeling will also be something to improve on over the next year.

i still hesistate to do a winter recap i will explain in the weather part of the post now we’re at 20.2 inches of snow for the year i had forecasted 20 for a seaosn total provided we don’t get another big snow this will be the best snow forecast i’ve ever made.  again give or take a bit based on location.

part 2 THE WEATHER

1. what a BLAH day today cliuds drizzle and light rain will continue today with highs struggling to 45. sunday will be more of the same except maybe the sun peaks later on allowing us to make the low 50’s.

2. the good part of the forecast as i hinted in the last post a warm-up is coming highs will rise into the 60’s and maybe 70 by wednesday with southerly flow and sunny skies.

3. the flow switches around to nw as a trough backs into the midwest and northeast which will likely be with us from the middle of next week into the week after that. this would mean a end to another spring though i don’t expect a turnaround like we had this week. we;ll have a decent chance of showers thursday as shown on all the models at this point with highs knocked back down into the  low 50’s.

4. friday will see the nw flow continue but a dry day in between clipper systems highs in the 50’s once again.

5. we watch to see if the trough digs in a week or so to lead to another colder period or if it’s progressive and a big time warm-up comes by months end.

the gfs is not that hopeful for a full spring bloom here. (mar 26)
